Spread the Word about Youth Group @ St. Margaret Mary
Wondering what Youth Group is about? Or if it’s right for you?
We wondered the same thing last fall when we first heard the call for Youth Ministers at Mass. Separately each of us was intrigued, but the voices of doubt made their presence felt too. Youth Ministers? Are we “cool enough”? Can we connect with teens? What will we say? What will we do? Where will we find the time? We will admit-- it took us three weeks to pick up the phone and call Father Tim.
Many months later, Youth Group has become an opportunity for us to spend more time together doing 2 things we value: having fun & practicing our Faith. We both remember our teen years and what role faith played. Neither of us belonged to a Youth Group and our formal religious education ended at 8th grade. We sometimes feel that it has taken us several years to “catch up” in matters of Faith. If someone had only tried to tell us then, what we know now.
We look forward to connecting with the “teens of today.” What a great way to stay one step ahead of our 5 year old and 2 year old sons! We look forward to planning the weekly meetings together. Karin will work to keep things creative and Kevin will make sure they’re fun. For the rest we will put our trust in God.

Place: Youth Group Room in St. Margaret Mary’s School
(back entrance, near the cafeteria)
So what is Youth Group? Mostly, it’s about Sunday nights with friends. It’s about starting your week in a good place. Ultimately it will be what the teens of our parish want it to be as we get to know more about the youth of our parish.
Is Youth Group right for you? The only way you’ll know for sure is to check out a meeting. We hope you’ll find Youth Group at St. Margaret Mary’s to be a friendly and inviting place where your presence and ideas really do make a difference.
