We are eight of your fellow parishioners. At our first discernment meeting, others were present who asked to be included when we have a plan are ready to implement the plan. So, we expect more to join us.

When are meetings?

We usually meet on the first Tuesday of the month, at 7:00 pm, in the second floor conference room of the rectory. From time-to-time, members of the team will meet to prepare for meetings. We sometimes have an additional meeting during a month in which we want to accomplish a specific goal.

What have we accomplished?

There is no ‘stewardship pathway’. Each faith community needs to develop its own plan. However, we can learn from what others have done. After months of study and reading, we decided to focus on ‘support for stewardship’ as described by the ‘Pillars of Stewardship’ developed by the Diocese of Wichita, Kansas. We are beginning our efforts with ‘Hospitality’.

What are our plans?

We are focussing on hospitality, as described elsewhere. We have a questionnaire we wish to distribute to our parishioners to determine what to do next. We are ‘piloting’ the questionnaire by meeting with all the parish ministries during June. During the summer, we will refine the questionnaire. After Labor Day, we will present it to all parishioners. We want the thoughts and ideas of everyone!

Isn’t this different from what other parishes are doing?

We are guided by the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops’ Stewardship: A Disciple’s Response and the Diocese of Rochester’s Joy of Stewardship. Eventually, we may develop plans for ‘time, talent and treasure’, similar to what you may have heard other parishes doing, but we feel it is necessary to first introduce for stewardship to our parish.
