We have a variety of Religious Education programs at St. Margaret Mary Church. For further information about the following programs, please call the Religious Education Center at 342-7114 or email us at rstmarga@dor.org. Note: We always need and welcome new volunteers.
Religious Education Classes - For 3 year olds to 8th graders. Sunday mornings, Wednesday afternoons, and an optional alternative summer program for Jr. High classes.
Sacramental Preparation Programs - For the sacraments of: First Communion, First Penance, and Confirmation. The programs are based on individual readiness and involve parental participation.
Liturgy of the Word - For Children grades 2nd - 5th at the 9:00 a.m. Sunday Mass, September to May. Children go from church to the rectory for their own Liturgy of the Word (scripture readings, homily, petitions, and creed) and then return for the Liturgy of the Eucharist.
Vacation Bible School - This annual summer program is held during a week in July (registration is in April) for children entering kindergarten through 6th grades. It includes activities such as Bible stories, games, crafts, snack, music, assemblies and much more.
Bible Study - For adults, on Thursday mornings, Sept. to May, at 9:15 a.m., is a discussion group to talk about the upcoming Sunday scripture readings.
R.C.I.A. - For those interested in joining or finding out more about the Catholic Church, the RCIA is a program which prepares people for initiation into the Catholic Church at the Easter Vigil. The program begins in the fall and there are seperate meetings for adults and children.
The Religious Education Center is located on the first floor of St. M.M. school and our Religious Education staff members are: Charles Prindle (Director), Mary Carapezza (Secretary) and Karen Paliani (Sunday Classes Administrator).
